Under Ground Coal Gasification (UCG)

M/s Smartgen Infra Private Limited is the only company in India has ventured into construction and operation of Under Ground Coal Gasification Projects in collaboration with a prominent UCG Technology provider. This technology has been successfully implemented in Russia, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, USA, China and Canada. India has enormous potential in UCG sector.

What is Under Ground Coal Gasification?

Gasification is a general term for various processes that converts fuels such as unmined coal into synthesis gas (Syn gas) by reacting them with air/oxygen and steam at elevated temperatures.

Today, gasification of coal is largely directed to the production for Syn gas for conversion to ammonia, methanol etc.

Power generation sector is expected to have the highest growth in fuel gasification over the next 20 years.

MARINE WORKS

M/s Smartgen Infra Private Limited in association with multinational companies having modern dredging fleet is planning to venture into Capital Dredging, Reclamation and construction of Break Waters. The Ministry of Shipping(India) estimates the dredging market at about ₹20,000 crores by 2020.

What is Capital Dredging?

Capital dredging is carried out to create a new harbour, berth or waterway, or to deepen existing facilities to allow larger ships access. Because capital works usually involve hard material or high- volume works, the work is usually done using a cutter suction dredge or large trailing suction hopper dredge; but for rock works, drilling and blasting along with mechanical excavation may be used.

What is Reclamation?

Land reclamation is done by filling the area of water with material such as rocks and soil obtained during capital dredging.

What is Break Water?

A breakwater is a structure constructed for forming an artificial harbour with a basin so protected from the effect of waves as to provide safe berthing for fishing vessels.
